Sound Design Projects

These are some of the full projects I've done over the past year. They include edited game trailers and examples (or footage) of games created by students at my institution. All pre-existing audio (if present) has been replaced by my own implements.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm (trailer)    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (gameplay)

One of my favorite series of games, this was a complex and challenging re-design. The Queen of Blades has returned!  A short segment of the new Call of Duty game to portray my sound designing in a classic first person shooter.
Portal 2: Co-op (foley trailer)    Killing Floor (gameplay)

The goal of this particular trailer was to avoid using sound libraries and create original sound using foley and synthesis. My first experience with placing sound into a gameplay video; much different when compared to a cinematic trailer.
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (gameplay)    Bulletin Boy (gameplay)

The best of all the Zelda games, Wind Waker has plenty of sound that a player may not realize until they listen for it.   Bulletin Boy is a student-made game which I created both sound & music for and was great for learning implementation.

Compositional Works

I also do have a musical background and have been asked to write music for projects, so here are some examples of the compositional work I've done with MIDI. All pre-existing audio (if present) has been replaced by my own implements. These do include some sound design elements, as they do not feel complete without it!

Flower    Might & Magic Heroes VI

My first experience with sound design and composing very fitting music to picture at Flashpoint Academy.  This was a personal project I did during my free time; I liked the theme and it looked like fun video to compose music for!

Sound Cloud

On my SoundCloud page I have more examples of sound design through aural stories and audio processing, the most relevant of which are posted here. You can visit the full page by going to SoundCloud.

Mirror of Erised (signal processing)    Aural Story

The final project in our signal processing course was to record a single spoken phrase and use addons and plugins to process bits and pieces of it to make a 2-minute long semi-musical composition. I used a line from Harry Potter.  <3   This was a project for our DAW class; create a story involving a catastrophe and to paint a picture using only sound effects- vocals were not allowed. Pretty fun!
